I had a long meticulously researched post almost complete about the history of Memorial Day, comparing it to Veterans Day and Armed Forces Day along with a good dose of evidence condemning the liberal media. Then I saw this picture of 8 year-old Christian Golczynski receiving the flag from the coffin of his father, Marine Staff Sgt. Marcus "Marc" Golczynski who was killed in Iraq on March 27, 2007...my post can wait until next year.
Thank you to all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation...and to their families.

I stumbled across your site searching for Memorial Day pictures and found this post. It really is true a pictures says 1,000 words... No words are needed to feel a glimpse of this boys pain and honor written on his face. We have such a debt to pay for the sacrifices made by our military and their families, I only pray we deem worthy.
This story and photo was sent to me and your right just looking at Christian's face says a thousand words. My heart goes out to him and his family. I adopt soldiers in Iraq and I feel so good when I send a letter a email or a package off to these soldiers. I will be so happy when I know longer have to do so, but until then our soldiers have my support. God bless you Christian and stay strong.
Not that I am boasting in myself, but I wanted to tell you that I went to school and graduated with this young mans father, Marc. I was on the wrestling team with him as well. He was an amazing person and the very thought of how he died haunts me to this day.
I borrowed this pic from you to place on my blog as well. Thankyou!!!
