The Apprentice: Martha Stewart was a spin-off from The Apprentice with Donald Trump. The NBC reality show only lasted one season, premiering on September 21, 2005, and concluding on December 21, 2005.
One of the candidates was Ryan Danz who made it to the 11th of 13 weeks. Ryan has his own website and below is his biography from that website:
Born and raised in Sausalito, California, Ryan began his entrepreneurial endeavors as a young boy. He spent much of his youth helping his mother and step-father with their family owned book stores in San Francisco.
In fact, it was then Ryan began conquering the art of the sale and learning first hand the ways to employ creativity and business acumen. At the age of 8, Ryan convinced a doctor and his wife to buy an $80 medical textbook when their priority was a book on the history of San Francisco.
It was also during Ryan’s youth when he discovered his athletic spirit. Ryan excelled in all sports at a young age and even lettered in three different sports his senior year of high-school, football, wrestling and baseball. But it was baseball that became Ryan’s passion. In his junior year, Ryan played baseball overseas in Italy, representing the U.S. Ambassador Team. After high school Ryan followed his dream of playing collegiate baseball. When Ryan arrived at Washington State University for his freshman year, he was told by the coach that he was too skinny to play Division I. Refusing to take no for an answer, Ryan hit the weights and headed back to California where he played his sophomore year at Porterville College. Eventually Ryan decided that a superior education was the most important asset to bring with him in life, so he traded in his baseball equipment for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from UC Davis. It was also during his time at Davis that Ryan realized his true entrepreneurial potential, starting a car detailing business out of the garage of his grandmother’s home.
Following college Ryan enrolled in law school at California Western School of Law in San Diego, California. Ryan was following in the footsteps of his father, a successful employment law attorney in Los Angeles. California. Ryan’s next step was to work for his father doing both business and legal work. Before Ryan even took the bar examination he was responsible for opening and running the San Diego division of Danz & Gerber. With only his innate business sense, Ryan was able to obtain office space, interview and hire attorneys, retain clients, network with other San Diego attorneys and acquire referrals, perform both marketing and advertising, and draft legal pleadings.
And when Ryan wasn’t busy opening a successful branch for his father’s firm, he was falling in love with his best friend and now wife of one year, Nicole. Nicole has been the inspiration in Ryan’s life, always pushing him to do bigger and better things. It was Nicole who convinced Ryan that he should try out for The Apprentice.
Ryan’s competitive spirit and desires have created opportunities and success for him wherever he has gone. Some of the lessons Ryan has learned along the way include walking with pride, staying motivated, persisting in the face of doubt and defeat, and most importantly, believing in yourself. These lessons learned during his early years, combined with his proficiency at multitasking, have served him well throughout his young career. Ryan has recently learned first hand from one of the most successful women in the world, Martha Stewart, what it takes to be successful in business. And like Martha, Ryan is creative, strong, intelligent and extremely interested in business. His drive and his passion will result in profound success!
