Christened July 25, 1998, maiden deployment November 2000 to May 2001. Carrying over 80 aircraft including: F-14 Tomcats, F/A-18 Hornets, EA-6B Prowlers, S-3B Vikings, E-2C Hawkeyes, SH-60 Sea Hawks and C-2 Greyhound. | ||

The washdown system originally developed after the 1946 Operation Crossroads nuclear tests at the Bikini Atoll in the Pacific as a method of ridding a ship of radiation fallout. Also, cleans the ship of biological and chemical agents and can be used to deliver enough fire suppressant foam to cover the deck in seconds. | ||

Stan Fox crashed in turn one seconds into the May 28, 1995, Indianapolis 500. Note the two cars on the ground are facing opposite directions. He eventually recovered (though never to race again) after many months of hospitalization and rehabilitation. Fox died in a passenger car accident while not wearing a seatbelt after he veered into an oncoming car on Desert Road in the New Zealand outback at age 48 on December 19, 2000. | ||

Mike Warren was flying his Cessna 150L into Tukwila's Boeing Field near Seattle, Washington, the morning of April 10, 1998, when he struck high-voltage power lines resulting in him and his plane hanging upside down more than sixty feet above the ground by just a single wheel for more than three hours before Tukwila firefighters successfully rescued him. | ||

I'm guessing, two errors...the car was in drive instead of reverse and when it started forward she panicked and slammed on the gas thinking it was the break. I just wish I could have been there. | ||
